Getting Familiar With Neeq

Neeq has been putting in work for years, and his latest project, THE FISHING TAPES, Vol. 2, is another chapter in a catalog that’s been growing since 2022. The rapper, whose songwriting credits identify him as Nikolai Basco, has built up a steady collection of singles, mixtapes, and collaborations. While his upbringing and early life haven’t been widely documented, his music goes back further than some newer listeners might realize.

With four years of officially released projects behind him, Neeq has more music in his catalog than a first-time listener might expect. THE FISHING TAPES, Vol. 2 serves as a new entry point, but digging into his earlier releases tells a bigger story. From Stuck In the Lab to All Eyes On Neeq and both installments of The Fishing Tapes, there’s plenty of material to get familiar with. As he continues dropping music, Neeq is an artist worth keeping an eye on.
