Tim Farrell Brings Personal Storytelling to Footwear With the SWNDL & BRTE PR624

Chicago designer Tim Farrell is putting meaning behind every step with the latest sneaker release from SWNDL & BRTE, the PR624: “Flesh of My Flesh.”

Recently unveiled through an official Chicago release event, the PR624 received a strong response from the city, nearly selling out its entire initial run. The launch also brought out several familiar Chicago faces, including Chelsea B, Recoe Chi, and Arne Duncan, who came to support Farrell and experience the growing brand firsthand.

Farrell based the color on his older brother’s favorite color — pink, even if, as Farrell jokes, his brother might deny it. The number 624 represents his brother’s birthday, while PR stands for Peninsula Runner. The logo placed on the side of the sneaker takes its shape from Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, further connecting the design to identity and place.

The shoe’s subtitle, “Flesh of My Flesh,” represents where Farrell is currently at in his life and creative journey. At a point where he feels he may not always have material things to offer others, Farrell says what he can give is a piece of himself — his ideas, experiences, energy, and creativity.

That mentality transforms the PR624 from simply another sneaker into something closer to a personal artifact. Every element, from the color to the name and logo, carries a piece of Farrell’s story.

With the PR624 nearly selling through and Chicago continuing to show support, SWNDL & BRTE is proving that independent footwear can resonate most when the product feels as personal as the person creating it.
