Born in New Jersey, raised in New York, and now based in Chicago, IsthatAvo has spent years developing his sound, learning the recording process, and figuring out what it takes to build a music career independently.
Music was part of Avo’s upbringing long before he considered pursuing it professionally. His father was an artist who also helped other musicians record, exposing him to both the creative and technical sides of making music at an early age.
By eighth grade, Avo had joined his school choir. A few years later, he started recording with friends in high school, eventually deciding to pursue music more seriously. His influences are wide-ranging. Alongside his father, he cites Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, and Benny the Butcher as artists who have shaped his appreciation for music.
His latest album, AVONOCADO, is another step in that process. Avo is interested in vocal engineering, music production, and artist development, with the goal of helping others strengthen their sound and reach a professional standard.
He also hopes to expand his music internationally while maintaining a positive presence in his community. His story is still developing, but his priorities are clear: create original music, take the production seriously, and build a career that eventually allows him to support other artists.
