Jabba44x Is Pushing Chicago’s Underground Forward

Jabba44x is helping shape the next wave of Chicago rap with a sound built on sharp lyricism, experimental production and undeniable personality. Raised between Bronzeville and Hyde Park, Jabba grew up surrounded by hip-hop, reggae, house music and an extensive collection of records owned by his father. Early influences such as Kanye West and Nas helped develop his appreciation for both storytelling and strong production.

He introduced himself with his 2021 debut project, LOWEND THEoRY, a personal release rooted in Chicago’s Low End. Since then, his music has become increasingly unpredictable, blending traditional rap writing with distorted bass, electronic textures and energetic flows.

After moving to Los Angeles for college, Jabba continued expanding his sound while remaining connected to Chicago. Songs such as “Elevator Musik,” “B2A,” “Blackout” and his Polo Perks collaboration “4L” show his ability to move between polished bars and chaotic underground production.

His recent single “INDECISIVE” continues that evolution, pairing confident writing with production from Twzrd, Emman and FearDorian.

As Jabba’s sound continues to grow, he is becoming one of the most distinctive voices emerging from the city’s underground.
