WickedWitches Is Entering a New Chapter With a New Project and Two Major Chicago Shows
WickedWitches is heading into one of the biggest stretches of his career so far. The Chicago artist is preparing to release a new project while bringing the rollout directly into the city with an event at V1 Studios on Saturday August 22. For an artist whose identity has been built around unpredictability, distinct visuals and a constantly evolving sound, the event gives fans a chance to experience the next era beyond just streaming the music.
The new project follows WickedWitches’ continued rise within Chicago’s underground, where he has developed a style that is increasingly difficult to categorize. Rather than staying attached to one sound, Wick has built his appeal around experimentation and character, allowing each release to add another layer to the world surrounding WickedWitches.
That momentum will continue into September. On September 27, WickedWitches is set to perform at Bookclub Chicago as part of UnoTheActivist’s Chicago show. The event begins at 7 p.m. and features UnoTheActivist alongside Sid Shyne, Diego Money, Maino Da Plug and additional performers. Opening for Uno is a fitting next step. UnoTheActivist has long been tied to the internet-driven underground that helped redefine rap throughout the late 2010s, making the show a natural setting for an artist like WickedWitches, whose own music exists within the next generation of that ecosystem.
With a new project arriving, a release-centered event at V1 Studios and the Bookclub performance following a month later, WickedWitches is turning the next few weeks into more than a traditional rollout. It is another step toward establishing himself as one of the names to watch within #NewChicago.
